Can anyone here help out a Java newb? This is my third day of working with it... and I STILL haven't mastered it! Sad

My questions are more across the board, overview, generic, WTFDTM ( cheesy  ) type?

I did little bit in Java took about two courses, and have several books on it, but so far haven't found a real reason for me to code in java, and with .Net I don't think I ever will.  Only time when I really thought about using java was either for a browser or cell phone based game.

Being a  stone cold genius the way I am, it only took me to the fourth day to understand exactly how stupid Java really is...

Or how insanely bad the Sun 'tutorials' are...

How inanely primitive the 'tools' are...

to get a real program off of the ground!

It is rather hilarious, there was a guy who had supposedly been a developer for 15 years on a WinBlows platform, was trying to get the exact same tutorial to work, dutifully typing in the sample project exactly like the tutorial said to, experiencing exactly the same errors. The tutorial was written in 2001!

doesn't work any better now than then. cheesy

It all became crystal clear the moment I finally understand that they had some *nix geek didn't have much clue how to set up a workable pathway environment ('classpath' Wink ) in WinXX
land.

Eureka! Was able to chuck the tutorial and actually got this abandon ware to work.

Now I'm on to do the 1.2,1.4>1.5/5 implementation difference tango... cheesy

Anyhow, don't sweat it, got it... Smiley
