7 Degrees of Separation...
« on: April 26, 2005, 11:22:27 am »

Hey VBGamer. Smiley

I have a friend (a couple of degrees of separation away) that runs this huge game server (hp3000.empireclassic.com Smiley  ) on some spare corporate mainframe. They used to have a forum for their game and all of the various game playing/GUI layer programs that are used to play the game.

My question is would you be willing to let them have a subforum for their game and what sounds like interesting game playing tools (written in Java, VB, and I think .Net Wink ) in your Games grouping?

I'm sure it wouldn't be any extra work for you (after the initial setup Wink ).  I would guess he only needs subforum moderator type access(?)...

Anyhow, they're really nice guys and were asking around,  etc. etc. Can you help these fellow game playing freaks? Smiley

Ahh, your posts are always so interesting...so, I went to the URL.  I like it!  Are any of these games reminiscent of Colossal Cavern (Adventure, Zork)?  Then, too, I have to wonder how may gamers today are interested in the old-fashioned stuff, what with all those ultimate video game consoles aroung!

I'd say something like "they bring back memories", but of course I don't want to date myself!

Thanks for that link, it's now in my favorites list.

Sarge

Edit:

PS.  YES! I found an "adventure" type game.  I will now retire for a few years.....Thanks, Big G

Yeah I can make them a subforum here.  If they want their own full forum they can goto easyphpbb.com and create their own.
Just get me the information needed and I will get it setup.
Now I am going to have fix some little things up on this board to make it look better.

Ahoy VBGamer,

I'm the site admin for hp3000.empireclassic.com to which Golem refers.

Would like a Game Development forum for my site called "Empire".

Is this doable?

Got it done and you are a moderator of that forum.
If you want to change the forum description just let me know and will change it.
You can also add your game in the game projects section of the site, and add a link to your site in the links section.
